Do you offer installation?

We do not offer installation. You can pick up any quantity in person or we will deliver five yards or more.

Will weeds grow in my mulch?

Yes, but they are much easier to pull out. Putting Preen on your mulch in the spring will help prevent new weeds from sprouting.

Does GeoWood treat its mulch?

No, we only color the mulch. If you want your mulch treated you will have to do that on your own. Preen is an excellent idea for weed prevention.

What is the recommended depth for mulch?

We recommend an initial application of 4-5 inches. Additional yearly applications of about 2 inches works well for most projects.

How much mulch will I need?

One cubic yard covers a 10’x10’ area, or 100 square feet at a depth of 3 inches. Put your dimensions in our calculator and we figure it up for you.

Are termites attracted to mulch?

Termites are attracted to wood, but not quite so much to mulch. Termites like to work in colonies and build tunnels in wood. Our finely ground mulch does not provide much structure for them to tunnel into the wood and build colonies.

Why is your mulch so consistent from year to year?

We control the process from beginning to end. We double grind, screen the oversize pieces for regrinding, and put in about double the recommended industry standard of colorant.
